Flexible Heaters

Rugged yet flexible grommeted silicone rubber insulated etched foil heaters wrap and, with lacing, are cinched in position around the length of a trailer tank’s inner liner and against its convex-shaped end cap. This enables temperature sensitive end-product components such as liquid chocolate and liquid pharmaceuticals to travel safely cross country and arrive in readily usable, protected condition for conversion to finished commodities at manufacturing destinations.

Our HotMicroCoil Heaters have

a varied operative range. Most important applications
are nozzles for hotrunner systems or hot melting nozzles.
Continuous process improvement is the guarantee for our
continuously high level of quality. Hot / Microcoil heaters can be
supplied coiled to your requirements or just straight to be coiled afterwards.
For Hotcoils it is also possible to integrate a thermocouple.

Assembly instructions

  1. Because of the hygroscopic characteristic of the used ceramic insulation materials they absorb moisture. Therefore we send our Hot / Microcoil heating elements usually in air-tightly closed plastic bags. When stored unprotected in environmental air it is absolutely important to check the insulation resistance before use and / if necessary / to dry the elements (controlled start-up or drying oven).
  2. Elements which are bent once, must not be altered anymore. The connection area as well as the first 5 mm unheated area must not be deformed at all.
  3. The temperature stress of max. 750 Celsius on the tube is not valid for the connection area. The temperatures arising in the connection area determine decisively the suitability of the available terminations.
  4. The stated nominal voltage must not be exceeded, otherwise overheat is risked.
  5. Generally it can be said: the better heat is carried off, or flows into the work piece respectively, the higher the surface watt density on the sheath can be.
  6. A too slag fit obstructs the heat conduction and leads to heat accumulation that could overheat and eventually destroy the heater.
  7. In every practice application there are working and environmental parameters which can not be calculated exactly in theory. That is why we recommend generally to test Hot – Microcoil elements in the application under real working conditions before series use.
