Thermovormen
Het voor verwarmen van materiaal, ten behoeve van thermo vormen gebeurt in de regel met infrarode verwarmingselementen. Steeds meer draait het hier om efficientie om de productie snelheid zo hoog mogelijk te krijgen en het energie gebruik zo laag mogelijk.
Belangrijk is het juist afstemmen van de infrarood elementen om het materiaal dat verwarmt dient te worden. De gedachte is niet juist dat hoe hoger het vermogen de energie overdracht sneller zou zijn. Alles hangt samen met het afstemmen van het moleculaire absorberen van energie ten opzichte van de golflengte. Een juiste golflengte doen de moleculen bewegen.

- Protection against water corrosion. The heating element is never at direct contact with water as it is brazed outside on the steam generator. Brazing is carried out at a temperature between 1050 to and 1100 Celsius in a controlled atmosphere. At this temperature the steam generator – because of high solubility of some elements inside the stainless steel and its quick cooling – is protected against water corrosion, even against distilled water, which is acid as everybody knows.

They can be used in a wide range of applications, although they are generally used to create custom heating solutions. The functional usage of tubular heaters is limited only by the space available, the maximum sheath temperature and watt density of the given unit.

Cartridge heaters are generally used in immersion applications. However, due to the compact cylindrical shape of cartridge heaters, they can also be used in a variety of other applications.
Important parameters to consider when specifying cartridge heaters are maximum operating or sheath temperature, AC voltage required, watts and watt density. Maximum operating temperature is the maximum temperature that the sheath covering the heater may reach.
